Enquiries: let collectors reach you directly
Mark a work as available for sale and it gets an enquire button. Messages land in your inbox with the work attached, and the sender is saved to your audience.
Who receives the enquiry
An enquiry arrives as an email with everything you need to reply: the sender's message and contact details, plus the work it is about. You reply directly from your own inbox.
You control who receives these emails, in three layers. Per work, the Enquiry notifications section takes additional addresses, for example the gallery representing that piece. If a work has none, your default addresses from Settings apply. And your account email is always the final fallback, so an enquiry can never go unnoticed.
- 1
Per work: open the work, and under Enquiry notifications add up to ten additional email addresses.
- 2
Defaults: go to Settings, open Profile and fill in Default enquiry notifications. These apply to every work without its own addresses.
Accepting enquiries until a date
A work can accept enquiries indefinitely, or until a date you choose, for example the end of an exhibition. Set this per work under Enquiry notifications: after the date, the work stops accepting new enquiries.
Enquiries grow your audience
Every person who enquires is saved to your contacts automatically and appears in the Enquiries list in Audience, with a record of which work they asked about. When you send your next campaign, the collector who asked about a piece last month is already on your list.
Spam protection is built in: rate limiting and a hidden trap field keep automated junk out of your inbox.
